A Huge Spill
A huge holiday glitter spill can seem like a huge task, but it can be easier to clean up than a small spill. First off, hold a piece of thick paper near the pile of holiday glitter. Angle the paper so that it makes a ramp and use another sheet of thick paper like a broom to move glitter onto the sheet. Using this method, remove as much holiday glitter as possible from the floor. Use a makeup brush or soft paintbrush to help sweep even more holiday glitter once the thick paper loses its effectiveness.
Don’t Forget Your Vacuum
Vacuums can do a beautiful job at cleaning up a carpet or hardwood floor holiday glitter disaster, so grab yours to clean up. Use the hose without attachments or use a crevice or crack tool to grab every last speck of glitter. This method prevents you from re-using the glitter (unless the inside of your vacuum is clean…thought not!), but it can do a great job at getting every last piece of glitter off of the floor.
Use a Damp Cloth
Damp cloths are another great way to clean up glitter. These work best on hardwood, tile, vinyl, or laminate hard flooring. Wet a paper towel and dab the glitter up. It should adhere to the cloth over the floor.
Grab Your Lint Roller
A lint roller might seem like a surprising choice, but it does a great job of getting up holiday glitter on carpets or any type of hard flooring. If you don’t have a lint roller, simply use a roll of masking tape or packing tape to dab it all up.
